Cotton & Sago is an impact driven lifestyle brand that produces artisanal batik prints. Born in the heart of Malaysia, our batik prints and makers quickly expanded to include artisans from Indonesia. Embracing the diversity allow us to explore the deep heritage that connects the traditional art of batik making within Nusantara and the Malay World. With a vision to impact the lives of batik artisans in Southeast Asia, we seek to preserve tradition and recreate art for the modern world.

 

We adopted a goal towards improving the livelihoods of batik artisans through increased market and economic opportunities as well as creating a more humane and transparent way of working. Thus, supporting SDG GOAL 8: Promote Economic Growth & Decent Work.

 

 

Cotton & Sago is Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC) Accelerator Programme: Social Enterprise Track (MAPSE) Cohort 2 Alumni and a certified member of Social Enterprise UK, membership number 10342.
